Well Versed

My Solo Exhibition is running from 14 – 28 June 2016. Come in to view at Gallery149, on Main Street Papakura and also have a cup of coffee at Café "Canopius" next door.
This year I experimented with Rust Emulsion as I really like the colours and textures of rust that casually occur everywhere.
The emulsion is a ferrous solution which must be painted on, left to dry and then washed with an acid medium. It produces real rust...which continues to corrode if water is added. I enjoyed combining this with metallic paint to produce paintings with an industrial feel. It is a difficult medium to work with but I am planning to experiment with it further this year.
From 1 July until 12 September these and other works may be seen at "John Hill Vineyard" where you can also enjoy a meal and sample their fine wines.
